Amazon Studios has signed first-look deals with three production companies.
The deals are with Bona Fide Productions, Killer Films and Le Grisbi Productions.
Amazon gets exclusive first looks at the film and TV slates of Bona Fide and Killer for the next two years, and for Le Grisbi indie-sized films for the same period.
Amazon is currently working with Little Miss Sunshine prodco Bona Fide on Marc Webb movie The Only Living Boy in New York and with Killer on Wonderstruck, which is set to screen at the Cannes Film Festival.
Killer produced Amazon’s original series Z: The Beginning of Everything, while Le Grisbi is known for Oscar-winning 2014 film Birdman and is currently in post-production on Scott Cooper’s Hostiles.
Amazon Studios’ film production business began in January 2015 and has gone on to shake up the theatrical distribution window.
Upcoming releases include Doug Liman’s The Wall, Amir Bar-Lev’s Long Strange Trip and Michael Showalter’s The Big Sick.
