Hulu gains US rights to Israel’s False Flag

FALSE-FLAG_KI_V12_1075X850_RGB_300DPIHulu has acquired exclusive US streaming rights to Israeli espionage thriller False Flag, which is currently in production for its second season.

The thriller sees five ordinary citizens implicated in a high profile kidnapping. The show has already been aired by Canal+ in France and sold to Fox Networks Group in a multi-territory deal outside of the US.

False Flag’s first season is created by Amit Cohen and Maria Feldman, and produced by Tender Productions. Feldman and Leora Kamenetzky created season two, with Masha TV producing and Oded Ruskin directing both seasons.

Keshet International holds distribution rights to the series and its sales manager Rose Hughes negotiated the deal with Hulu.

“Dramas with compelling storylines travel well regardless of the language, as Hulu has demonstrated once again with its acquisition of False Flag in the US,” said Keren Shahar, COO and president of distribution for Keshet.

“We are very happy to continue our relationship with Hulu with this premium series which has attracted strong worldwide sales across multiple TV and digital platforms.”

Yesterday, Hulu announced Fox Networks Group president and COO Randy Freer would replace Mike Hopkins as CEO. Hopkins is moving to Sony Pictures Television as chairman.
